Honestly, I loved everything about this spot. Great servers and great food. As someone who doesn’t drink, it was so lovely that they had multiple zero proof wine options and even a flight! This was my first time having a flight because I’ve never seen zero proof flight options elsewhere. The food was also good, specifically the truffle pasta and the roasted chicken sandwich. The trout was a bit salty but everything else was good so I gave that a pass.

Fifth visit to Wine Kitchen, first Google review of it. First, get reservations. There aren't a lot of tables, and it's popular. Second, don't miss out on the mixed drinks. Yes the wine selection is terrific (particularly the flights), but they tend to have some unique drinks that are tasty. Third, get the roasted brussel sprout salad/appetizer or the giant meat ball. They're fantastic. Fourth, avoid the beef cheek unless you're looking for something reminiscent of "grandma's Sunday pot roast." My personal favorite is the pepper pasta with the steak added. They also once had a King Salmon special and a Short Rib special that were world-class but those aren't on the day-to-day menu. Lastly, if you forget a reservation, the bar has maybe 6-8 seats and I've managed to squeeze in there before.

Oh my. Wasn’t quite sure what to expect when we booked our monthly wine club tasting across the street and decided to do dinner at the Wine Kitchen. Our server was Saieh, and she was fantastic! She navigated us through our appetizer and entree choices, making sure to alert us to the fact that there were Wednesday night specials! Her recommendations on appetizers were spot on and she wasn’t afraid to call on the manager on duty Sam for additional information… Couldn’t ask for more from the rigatoni bolognese or the halibut we had for dinner. But the real stars of the show were the service we received and the HH appetizers we had!

Food was AMAZING. We opted for the tasting menu. We eat at many highly sought out restaurants in DC proper, and this meal was better than almost all of those! We really got our money’s worth, too. The amount of food will not disappoint. Only downside: Our first interactions with service workers were off-putting. When we arrived, we were within 2ft of 3 staff members, none of whom greeted us for a minute plus. It was odd, and not a great way to start the meal. The rest of the experience was fine!

One of the best meals and experiences I've had! It was my fiance's birthday and they had a little card for her and really made our experience so great! The food was wonderful - mussels were great and so was the potato pasta, The dessert was fantastic - s'mores tart was so good! Finally the drinks, extremely well done!

My fiance & I have been going here for several years. We have always had great service and great food. We love the rotation of the menus. This time, we had the pleasure of being served by Jeff. He was phenomenal and has great people skills. We were greeted by Meredith. She is always so positive and is great with customers. Another server, Atilla, is always so friendly and provides such great service. These people, along with the chefs, make Wine Kitchen worth coming back to time and time again. We love the new renovations and will keep coming back.

The food was good and the service was great. The price to value was outrageous though. We came in for happy hour and did the $51 pasta tasting menu. We assumed that was $51 for two of us. They brought us six little samples of pasta. Turns out it was $51 a piece. So we paid $100 for a “happy hour” pasta special that didn’t even add up to a single plate’s worth of pasta. We could have each just ordered a normal $20 pasta plate for half the price. This felt way overpriced.

My friend and I came here on a weekday for happy hour. We got a seat outside, which was nice. We ordered the goat cheese fritters, chickpea fritters, and meatballs. Everything was medicore at best. The chickpea fritters desperately needed a dipping sauce. The meatballs weren't tender. The portion sizes were TINY. I get that it's happy hour, so portions will be smaller, but we were still starving after ordering 3 appetizers. I ordered the red shrimp garganelli to go. Came home a bit later, excited to eat it, and was SO disappointed. The shrimp were miniscule and overcooked and the sauce was dry. You wouldn't even know it was shrimp if the description on the menu didn't say so. If I'm paying $23 for a shrimp pasta, the shrimp better be big and cooked well. Just an absolute disappointment overall, will not be back. This review is NOT a reflection of the service! Our server was excellent.
